Sound is stuttering during cutscene

For several games I have the following problem:
The sound in the cutscenes is stuttering. As if the video can't keep up with the sound (video appears to run slow). I first noticed it with Splinter Cell, but now Rainbow Six 3 has the same problem. I think it has something to do with the extension of the cutscenes. For both games the cutscenes are .bik files. Extra information: I have a Nvidia FX 5500 videocard.

Have you gone to your sound cards web site to look for updated drivers? Also check to make sure you have the latest patches for the games you are running.

How could I forget to mention the type of soundcard I have...
It's a creative soundblaster PCI 128.
And I do have the latest drivers.
But, I have a feeling that it is not the soundcard that is the problem. The videos just run slow and I think to compensate for this the sound is stuttering. On the other hand, I could be wrong...

I have seen similar problems with the PCI 128, but it could also very well be the fact you only have 256M memory.
