I would say everything looks pretty good............except from the p1ss poor hard drive.

It looks good to me , except your 5400 RPM HDD,it is slow. Also, Vista is not very good for gaming.

I thought 7200 RPM had been the industry standard for laptops since 2006? Or am I living in geek la-la land?

It's not a 7200RPM, It's a 5400RPM.
