hello, i run p4 550 3.4ghz 2X 512 ddr2 ram w/ a geforce 7600 OC and i had to retreive a restore point due due weird system failures, this fixed the auto shutdown problem but now Left 4 Dead is choppy and slow.. lol and so is age of empires 3. There is no excuse for an old balls game to do that on this system. I need a little suypport if you have any ideas!

Try uninstalling the gpu drivers and go to the nvidia website and install the latest drivers.
Iron Sharpens Iron.

yeah i went to nvidia web site and downloaded the latest drivers but didnt try uninstalling them first manually and the installing the new ones. would rolling back the driver do the same thing as uninstalling it?

Rolling back would just revert it back to the older driver, it may work, but if those drivers got corrupt too during the system restore process then you miles well just do a clean uninstall of the drivers altogether.
Download the latest drivers if you haven't set and save the .exe file to the desktop.
Then uninstall the old drivers and clean up the rest of the driver files left over that uninstalling didn't delete by downloading the following program.
Driver Sweeper

You should no have no traces left over of any of the geforce drivers that were once installed on your pc. Now install the new drivers.Iron Sharpens Iron.
