hey,
having just installed a MSI 7600gt into my machine, it dosnt seem to be running at full specs. having read on the net that the memory core shud be running at around 1400mhz, the card seem to be detected at 700mhz. the mainboard is a winfast 6100k8MB geforce series and im just wondering if this is being detected correctly. it seems sluggish in games and i feel it should be running a lot quicker than it is! thanks for any help.

7600GT runs at 560MHz core / 700MHz memory. If you see 1400MHz listed in the specs, that's the "effective" DDR speed.

Make sure to disable the onboard video.

Thanks, it seems strange that the 6600gt wich i replaced with the 7600gt ran with a 1.19ghz of memory clock speed. any ideas why that is??

The 6600GT runs at 500MHz/500MHz (DDR1000). Maybe you had an overclocked version?

The 7600GT is better than a 6800Ultra, so dont worry you have made an upgrade. As jam said the 6600GT runs at 500MHz Core and 500MHz Memory with an effective speed of 1GHz, the 7600GT runs at 560MHz core and 700MHz memory with an effective speed of 1.4GHz. Its DDR so double 700MHz and you have your effective speed of 1400MHz.
