NO man, some boards support dual core, which is nice! But no you don't have to have a dual core...

Dual core is a waste for gaming, at the moment. There are no current games that I am aware of that are written to utilize mutiple CPUs or even multiple threads (i.e. hyperthreading). But, you never know.

However, dual cores will give you the ability to run another processor intensive task at the same time you are gaming. Of course, you will need to make sure that they are not fighting for other resources such as memory.

SLI
Dual Core CPU's
Raid 0 Arrays
Dual Channel DDR (DDR = Double Data Rate)

Seems that all good things in computing come in two's. What's next? How about dual Audigy cards for some earth shatering 14.2 sound.
