Sims Double Deluxe

Specs: Microsoft Windows XP Professional, 868 MHz / 318 MB
I recently installed the Sims Double Deluxe into my computer (old version, i know). The installation went along perfectly, however I'm unable to play the game. When I click on the Sims icon the sims game will open up, look like it's completely loaded (i'm not sure if it completely loads or not) and then it'll just go right back to my main computer screen. I've tried so many things in order to fix this problem and nothing seems to be working, what am I not doing?

Do you have a DVD Rom? Later versions of the Sims 2 require DVD Roms and not CD Roms. Also, from the looks of your ram at 318, you don't have nearly enough ram to play this game. The game requires at least 1 GB for the base game alone, so I'd safely say two for running double deluxe which is basegame, an EP and 2 SPs.

Your system doesn't meet the minimum requirements. If you have the box, the requirements should be printed on it.

CPU: 1.0GHz (XP), 1.3GHz (Vista)
Memory: 512MB (XP), 1GB (Vista)
Video: ATI Radeon 8500 or better, nVidia GeForce 2 GTS or better (XP);
ATI Radeon 9600, nVidia GeForce 6200 or better (Vista).

NOTE: if you have a non-T&L capable card such as Intel Extreme graphics, you need at least a 2.4GHz CPU.
