Why is my Sims2 runny so slow? I exceeded all of the specifications.

Processor: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core

Graphic card: NVidia GeForce 6150

Memory: 2048 MB

Hard drive: 300GB

991 mhz

1.93 GB of RAM

It's a HP computer.

Your graphics card is onboard. That's probably part of it. It looks like to me your onboard graphics card is set to use 64M of system memory for video memory. I'd increase that to 128M in your BIOS. If that doesn't work, I'd highly recommend you consider purchasing a standalone graphics card.

"991 mhz" = Cool-n-quiet = on?

Is that how fast your CPU is running? If that is the case, then click on desktop -> properties -> screen saver -> power and change the power scheme to always on or desktop mode to let your CPU run at it's max speed...

It's on EnergyStar settings.

I forgot to mention that the game is choppy when I move to place to place. (scrolling to a different area, zooming). When I stop moving, the game runs smoothly.

I'm pretty sure your cpu speed is a big factor, I play it on my 2.4 ghz and it still doesn't always run smooth graphics card might also be the problem

I don't know why you have this problem. My sister runs Sims 2 her laptop with these specs:

CPU: Intel 1.4 GHz
RAM: 256 MB
GFX: 32 MB SiS Mirage
HDD: 40 GB

Some settings are set to low and other medium and the game runs well at 800x600

I'm having a pretty weird problem too, I installed the sims 2 again after a HD reformat, I've played the game well before reformat but now since I install it every thing crash. All things. My processor speed is different all the time in the system requirement checker, and says my video card is incorrect, but I already play with this video card.
