The new SimCity just entered closed beta, and a bunch of the invites have gone out. It looks like they'll be adopting a pretty DRM-heavy model similar to Diablo 3 where there is no offline play, and you are dependent on the servers being up and functional to play the game. I was seriously thinking of plunking down for the Limited Edition until I read about some of the troubles users are encountering. I can't imagine dumping a few hours into building the perfect megalopolis only to have it wiped because the router went all fritzy. Anyone here get into the beta so far? What's your take on the DRM?
