I have been having troubles installing Sim City 4 again. I recently formatted my hd and when I attempted to install Sim city 4 again it gets to 31% installed and the computer reboots. I have ample cooling, the processor is between 44-50 C and I have plenty of room on my HD about 30GB free. Any ideas as to what might be causing Sim City 4 to reboot my computer?
Here are my system specs:
Amd 1800+
512 MB ddr ram
40 GB Maxtor HD
300 Watt power supply
Ati 8500LE 64 MB ddr ram (driver updates do not fix the proplem)
Sound blaster Live sound card

You computer might be crashing because of the simple fact that Windows ME is the single most unstable operating system known to man. I would suggest using Windows 2000 if you know a friend that has a copy. Otherwise I don't see any reasonable cause.

LOL. WHATEVER dude. WIndows ME IS THE BEST FOR GAMING, BELIEVE IT OR NOT. IT IS ALSO EASIER TO USE.
I have Windows Me, and it works very nice smooth. I can't really tell what your problem is, but just in case, install the latest Windows Update. This problem could also be caused by a virus. For more infomation on viruses, check out this site. You can get a free online virus scan here.

Also, try visiting this website. VERY HELPFUL for ME USERS.
If you are out of luck, try cleaning your Sim City CD, and be sure to enable DMA in your Cd-Rom(Device Managers). Either that, or your software has caused an error while its installing. This happend to me when I installed a XP on a formatted hard drive. Just reformat again and be sure to save the thing you need.
Good LUCK
