i even uninstalled k-lite mega code pack 1.59 but still i face the same prob. i have also updated my graphic drivers. my specs r in my signature. can anyone plz help me start sh3? if played in full screen, it flickers at the top-right corner but the remainder of the screen freezes at the point 'Some scenes may be considered to be voilent and cruel'. if i press ESC, i get the options to start a new game. but again i cant see anything. although the music is playing fine in the background. if i press ESC again, i get the options to resume or exit the game. this used to happen prior to uninstalling k-lite. after uninstalling k-lite when i select the game and riddle level, the game crashes. i have windows xp pro sp2 and the latest windows updates. i also have zonealarm security suite 6.5.737. i have read in a couple of forums that uninstalling k-lite code pack does the trick. but it didnt make a difference except that now i cant exit the game it crashes instead. can anyone plz help me?

Generally integrated video chipsets offer discouraging gaming performances & they are always advised against. This time around, your system is no exception. Bite the bullet and get a *real* video card - afterall, your system has a PCI-E slot.

if the game was running slow or freezing during gameplay then yes, that would be a problem with the gaming performance of the chipset. but its not the case here. in my case the game doesnt even start as if my chipset doesnt meet the min requirements of sh3, but it definitely does. i dont know what is preventing it from starting. is there a patch for sh3 to make it compatible with the latest chipsets in the market or another solution to this prob? thanx in advance.

you need to uninstall all the codec. especially xvid, and all-in-one codec pack and ffdshow.

thanx for replying fu.....but ive already written in my earlier post that i have uninstalled k-lite mega codec pack 1.59. that is the only codec pack i installed. i didnt install ffdshow or xvid separately. these codecs were all part of the code pack, which i uninstalled. now i assume that these codecs did get uninstalled when i uninstalled the codec pack coz i didnt find ffdshow or xvid in add/remove programs, after uninstalling the codec pack. also, as i mentioned in my previous post that when i start sh3, it doesnt actually freeze since i do get the startup message 'Some scenes may be considered to be voilent and cruel' and also get the new game, options, load game and exit options. now the only difference i found after uninstalling the codec pack is that before uninstalling it, sh3 wud even start a new game but i cudnt see anything on the screen and i cud hear the music playing in the background. so when i press esc, i cud successfully exit the game back to the desktop. but now after uninstalling the codec pack, when i click on new game, the game crashes. so fu, after uninstalling the k-lite mega codec pack 1.59, if there is anyway to check/confirm that the xvid and ffdshow (or any other conflicting codecs) are uninstalled, please let me know. furthermore, i have a g965 chipset having integrated gma x3000 graphics. now this is a very new chipset and i have installed the latest graphics drivers available on the intel website. also, i have a 17" widescreen viewsonic tft monitor. the resolution i normally have set for the monitor is the highest resolution possible. but to try to solve this prob, i even set the minimum possible ie. 800x600 and 24bit. i cant set it to a lower resolution than this. but even then, there is no difference. can u plz help me? thanx.
