This is a directx/gaming issue. After I upgraded my directx from 8.1 to 9, I've never been able to play Silent Hill 2 properly. The game runs all right and so on, there is only one little problem: whenever I turn on the flashlight, everything goes dark! I can't see anything except the game's main character (who is carrying the flashlight) with the flashlight on unless I'm outside or in another place with ambient light. Silent Hill 2 is such a game that it is impossible to play without the flashlight, because often you can't see anything. My software is not a pirate version, and it used to work fine. My graphics card is ATI Radeon 8500. I would really appreciate any help, because I really want to play that game.
