Comment:
Bah, It's me again.

I recently downloaded a game called street fighter online and when I run SFO it states:
" Failed to load Shockwave from SwDir.dll "

I downloaded the shockwave version the website stated and it still doesn't work.

Is this file missing or need to be updated?

0. Uninstall the game via Start/Control Panel/Add/Remove Programs.

1. Right click on your Start menu and select Explore. Go to Windows, then System 32 for Windows directory & delete Macromed directory.

2. Reinstall the game & then try it again.

It's not in the Add/Remove programs.

I mentioned that I downloaded it, not install. When I run the SFO program the error box pops up and says could not run shockwave from SwDir.dll. I'm pretty sure thats where you install it.

Have you uninstalled and reinstalled Shockwave yet? I'd get the latest version of Shockwave.

Btw,

It was ShockwaveCtl. Don't know if it would change the whole story but it says " ShockwaveCtl failed to load from SwDir.dll "

I updated shockwave, the SwDir.dll file and still no go.

Director

have you deleted the whole file called director, if you have then it must be that you downloaded the file "MSVBVM60.DLL" in which case you must delete this file. the reason for this is that the game, in absence of the proper script, will try to find one similar and will come across this file and try to use it as the replacement file, but we know it is wrong.

hope this helps

p.s. i am a random poster so please don´t try to post a response as i will probably not read it!

who´s more foolish, the fool or the fool who follows him?
