Ok I got FF XI and my PC specs were

512 RAM
Intel Celeron Processor 2.60GHZ
Windows XP
Direct X 9.0
(Integrated Video)Intel Graphics Controller 83845G/GL/GE/PE/GV

Ok and Installed FF XI and the Play Online Viewer , and the Play Online Viewer ran smoothly and fast . When I wanted to play Final Fantasy XI couldn't because I had Integrated Video and it didn't work for the game . I decided to get a new video card so I got a PNY Verto Geforce FX 5,500 PCI 128 MB DDR Video Card . I got a PCI card cause my PC only has PCI slots . I installed the card and when I opened the Play Online Viewer it ran Very very slow , that was on December 6 when the POV manteniance was annouced so I was like OK , maybe they are working on the POV already and it's causing all this . When I got to play FF XI it ran pretty slow even on the lowest resolution and I thought it had something to do with it . After the manteniance everything was the same and days passed till today I decided to get the card back to the store (It still here and I'm telling the reason now) . I got the card out of the PC and just moments ago decided to open the Play Online Viewer and what do I find out . THE FREACKING VIEWER RAN GREAT! . What the heck is happening here why does the POV runs so smoothly when using the interated video and when I got the other card in it just slowed down ? I don't know about the game cause this integrated video thing won't run it , but the POV runs great and fast opposite to the video card wich is supposed to be better ? HEEEEEEEEELP

Just seems like buggy drivers for either: Windows, VGA or FFXI.

ps. in the future try to use descriptive subject headers, cos then if people think they have a change of helping they will read the thread

well, it could be a few things... your integrated video is going to be alot faster because its... well integrated :) ... pci suffers from bus speeds etc... further more your itegrated is prolly agp and you said you got a pci card..

now, if you dont mind looking at your motherboard, theres always a labeled spot that allows you to turn off integrated video... do so by moving the jumper from say --ex.-- pins 1 and 2 to 2 and 3... (should only be 3 prongs, if more, refer to MotherBoard Manual) this may help as you wont have conflicting cards then.. (builtin vs. pci) also, could be your ram... get faster ram or more of it and it could help with your performance...
