I've been playing GTA San Andreas PC for most of my spare time since it was released. The game is great as a whole, but the flying missions are far too difficult.
I'm using my Saitek Cyborg 3D joystick (which I use for FS2004). The problem is that the rudder control (handle twist) and throttle control don't work with San Andreas, so I have to use W to accelerate, S to slow down, Q to turn left and E to turn right in addition to the joystick for pitch and roll. This is quite complicated to co-ordinate when in the heat of the action. The planes are so damn sensetive that as soon as I try banking to the left or right, I almost always overshoot into a near barrel roll, any attempt to recover results in overshooting into a near barrel roll in the other direction. This means that as soon as I attempt any kind To top it all off, I am required to use my third hand to control the view with the mouse (which I can't seem to turn off in the options)
It took me a solid day and a half to complete the flying school missions usually missing the corona's by a hairs width and taking too long to complete. My right arm felt like it had been lifting weights all day from trying to stop the plane gyrating into never ending oppositely opposed barrel rolls. Then I got to Las Venturas and found that quite a few missions are flying based.
Quite possibly the worst missions I have ever experienced in any game!!

a joystick for anything other than a flight sim is a really, really bad idea.
