How do you turn off the firewall on a netgear router. Having trouble trying to play a PS2 game online.
It all depends on what actually model of netgear router you have. Your best bet is to actually go the netgear technical support part of there website and select your model of router. Have you tried opening ports for the ps2 yet?

yes, i opened ports but still have the same problem, the router is a netgear mr 814 v2. i couldn't find any thing in manual or online help section.
I run a netgear rp614v2 router, and after having looked through the ENTIRE netgear support site and having spoke with netgear, ive never been able to get it to support anything that requires a WAN IP (hosting voice chat and/or gaming servers)(and I have tried it with opening the ports within the router that the game says are required, and opening ALL the ports) The only way its ever worked for me is to Take it OFF and just run my modem straight to whatever device im looking to use, (ie. PS2, Computer)Maybe as a rule of thumb for the future, i'll spend a bit more on a router that doesnt have a NAT firewall, but has one that can actually be configured, or the security level can be changed. Sorry I couldnt help you more
