Comment:

I just installed my friend's copy of Rome Total War on my computer, installation seemd to go fine, and now when I open the exe file (shortcut on desktop or via start menu), the menu comes up but it's not refreshing or something, the result of which is that every menu I open (options, multiplayer, etc.) is layed OVER the last menu. And everywhere I move the mouse, there's a trail of where the mouse has been. I can't even get into the game part of the game.

any ideas?

same thing happened to me. all you do is install that windows media 9 codec pack thing or whatever by popping in cd1, quickstarting it, then extras and ull see it there. Since i have WMP 10, i also had to download and reinstall WMP 10. works like a charm now. You should check out activision's? web site they address the issue.
