Hi. I just got resident evil 3, and found that it was a 95/98 game and was not compatible with Win XP. Since the publishers have not released a fix or patch for the game to be compatible on Win Xp, does anyone know anything that can make Win XP compatible for Resident Evil 3??

Hi Echelon.This should work.
Click start/run dxdiag Click on the sound tab Under hardware sound acceleration level, slide it from full to basic. *If that still doesn't work-slide it all the way down to NO acceleration.
That should definitely work. Good luck.-Birgitta

How funny, I just completed RE3 tonight. I had the game for awhile,(never finished it), when I had 98SE, but have since upgraded to XP Pro.
I had a few problems (only twice) during gameplay, where I needed to reboot, but you should be able to install it on your PC and play it just fine.
