I installed republic commandos and played for about 3-4 hours then restarted my computer. I tried playing again, but 1-2 minutes into the game, and my screen went black, and my computer froze. This was with a Rosewill ATI 9600xt. I updatd the latest drivers from ati.com and still the problem persisted.
I then installed an Aopen Geforce 6600 256MB and the problem still persisted. Anyways, when my computer crashed with the geforce card, I got a blue screen message DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL(0xD1). I called lucasarts tech support, and they told me i just needed to update the drivers. So, I updated the driver from nvidia.com and everything on my computer when pshyco. My screen looked like someone took their hand in wet paint and rubbed it across my screen. The colors were just really screwed up.
Then I rolled back the driver on the geforce, and the color problem persisted.
When I get back from school I'm going to download the drivers from aopen.com and rosewill.com to see if there was a problem with the drivers from ati.com or nvidia.com.
If anyone has played republic commandos and it works on your computer, can you please tell me what graphics card you are using.

Sounds like a classic case of your Hard Disk overheating. Here's the fix: You'll need a can of "spray air" (available everywhere). Open the case and spray into the drive with short bursts---and be sure to spray at an angle. Spray continuously and turn the spray can upside down. Repeat this process a few times, then try running the game again.

Half Life 2 kicks ass

It seems that my sound card and video card were in conflict... somehow... but anyways, thanksorz for the idea, but i have 6 fans running in my computer so it stays cool^^.
