what nvidea would be the same as a ati radion x1600pro 256mb agpx8. my dell only works with nvidea.

"my dell only works with nvidea"

You should be able to use either ATI or nVidia based cards in your Dell. Who told you nVidia only?

Your system only has a 250W PSU, so you may have trouble running any high powered gaming card without an upgrade.

As for the 6800GT, it looks like you copied the heading directly from newegg.

I can think of no reason why the X1600PRO wouldn't work. What happens when you put it in your Dell? No display at all?
