Reply: (edit)How good do you think it is? Have you tried it yet? As far as I know, the X800 is a great performer, but lacks Shader Model 3 support found on the Geforce 6-series, no big deal though! Try typing: "x800 vs 9800" or "x800 vs 6800" into google to find pages dedicated to graphical comparisons of cards. Reply: (edit)Information? I'll give you information! Radeons suck sumtin nasty, so trash it for an nVidia GeForce FX. And also seriously consider investing in a new Athlon CPU, like an XP or 64. Pentiums also reek for games, and AMD and nVidia work great together. Remember: nSIST!!!

Reply: (edit)?????????????????????????????????????????? Except for the small fact that the X800 is at least twice as fast as any Nvidia FX?? So, yeah! Why not trash your $600 graphics card and buy something older and slower, after all, it's only money! Duhhhh! Reply: (edit)ok x800 is good, in fact its great, and for the bechmarks i've seen neither this or 6800 have the absolute lead, X800 beats 6800 in Half Life 2, but same happens vice versa with Doom 3, and unless u're some freak that like to play at insane resolutions with full detail that ur eye can't even notice (I mean, u can't notice the difference between 2x and 8x aniso, so why load the card with more if u're not gonna notice it) either one is ok, but i'd go for nvidia 'cos of the shader model 3.0 support It is not that Linux isn't friendly, it's just that linux knows to choose its friends.

Reply: (edit)wow it really doesnt matter what card radeon x800 or geforce 6800 GT doesnt matter jesus its a game card. its not like you will notice that big of a difference even if the 6800 is compareable. They are both the top of the line cards for both companies. But x800 is newer I really couldn't care for the company and pentium 4 is fine for gaming. no need to blow 200-300 dollars on a new PCU just because someone else says its not good enough. frame rate will still be very high with that card no game it wont run. Even if AMD was faster you wont see much of a difference. Most say AMD is 400 megahertz faster last time i checked that really didnt make a super difference that was worth 200-300 dollars. Norman
