Currently I've started expirecing problems with my video card (radeon 9600 se) while running World of Warcraft. I'll be playing and all of a sudden my screen will turn black and a message will come up from my monitor saying "No Signal, Going to Sleep" Ocassionaly, there's a buzzing sound that comes from my speakers when this happens. I have tried numerous things to fix it, like turning off certian things that a friend had suggested, none of which worked. Now I'm stuck, and not sure what to do. I would like to try and fix the problem without having to spend money to buy a new video card. I'd appreciate any comments because I'm completely lost on what to do.
And if my system specs mean anything I'm currently running Windows XP Pro on:
AMD 2500+ Barton
MSI K7N2 Motherboard
1 gig of Crucial Ram PC 2700
160 gig Maxtor Hardrive
Aopen Sound Card (generic doesn't have a name)
Antec 350W Power Supply
and I'm not going to bother listing the CD/DVD drives because I doubt they play a role in this. ( if you would like me to I will, but at this time I don't feel it nessicary)

"No Signal, Going to Sleep" - sounds like you have sleep mode enabled. What do you have to do to get the display back?

The Radeon 9600SE is about as weak as a DX9 compatible video card can get...time for an upgrade.

The board has decent onboard sound...why the soundcard?

To get the display back, I need to shut the computer down and turn it back on. And at the moment, I really would like to keep my video card for atleast a month longer because I really don't have enough cash to drop on a new one. And for the soundcard, I can't really tell you why I bought one, I just thought I'd get better quality from one I guess.

a 9600se is decent for most gaems, maybe just not the top-of-the-line exreme graphics ones. 9600se is sufficient for just about everything. hell, i use a 9200 128 AGP and it works for all of what i do. medium grade gaming, not super-intensive, etc. anyway, i would suggest disabling sleep mode, also a drivers update wouldn't go amiss...

You could not be more wrong! The 9600SE is a 64-bit low end piece of crap, the only thing worse in a DX9 compatible card is the FX5200
