I have an ATI Radeon 7000 with 32mb ram in an entertainment center pc being used to watch movies/videos on TV (all 2d rendering). The picture is great but in the interest of reducing heat (and fans and noise), can I disable any of the 3d stuff? If I set all the slides to performance (versus quality), and disable AA and Antistrotoprotophophinging (I can't remember), will it hurt 2d display? Thanks all!

Antialiasing and so forth generally make a nicer picture while sacrificing speed. Turning this stuff off will have little effect on the heat generated by the chipset on the video card.

But do they make a 2d picture nicer? What is there to Anti-Alias?
