punnisher freezes

CPU/Ram: 512 DDR ATHLON XP 1.8
Product: NONE CUSTOM MADE

bin playing the punnisher fine with no problems but now all of a sudden when i get to the point where i have to find the nucchi drug lab it just freezes no error messages in windows or bsods i got the latest nvidiam drivers ive chked for any punnisher updates but none i have

nvidia 6600gt (fan on graphics card)
1gb ram
1.8ghz processor amd athlon xp
2 massive case fans 1 by hd other at bk underneath power suppy
case temp 80 farrenhit
cpu 116 farrenhit
ive done a scandisk
anti virus
chked defrag but doesn't need doing
got minimal stuff loading up
pc guard (blueyonder)
network
and expert tool

ive tried flashing my bios and updateing my nforce 2 chipset drivers and it still freezes heropsycho2177

I'd hook up a multimeter to the PSU and see what the voltages are. Those PSU's from a quick search on the net don't seem to be very high quality.

i tried one of me more demanding games ut2004 and i played it for the same ammount of time as the punnisher and ...............

not a single error or lockup

With your current setup, a good 400W or better would be the ideal. Depending on how much you want to spend and what your plans are for the long run. (Will you rebuild the current system when you get something faster, or are you gonna build a whole new system?)

Here's a good quality one for middle range money:

Basically get something with at least 18A on the 12V rail, and from a reputable manufacturer. I've had good experience with the following:

Antec, Thermaltake, Enermax, PC Power and Cooling, OCZ, Coolermaster, although there are more good ones out there. I just have personal experience with those.
