i need to know if i'd be able to run an XfX 7600gt with a Power supply of 300 watts. Will it be stable enough? I have an integrated graphic card, would disabling it make it possible to run the 7600gt stably

Wattage doesn't tell much these days, you'll need to supply additional details, like brand, Amperages on the various rail & so on.........

I also have one of those, the XXX rated version. mine's OC'd to 715/885 and it runs very smoothly. I am running a Hiper Type-R 580watt PSU. It's also running two Sata Hard drives, dvd drive, cd drive, and overclocked cpu and memory.

Your question is not easy to answer ATM. What Brand is your Power Supply? How many other components is it running? (i.e. # of hard drives, optical drives..)

Only thing I can answer so far is, yes, you're probably better off disabling your onboard graphics chipset. As far as stability goes, get drivers from nvidia.com. I'm still running somewhat older drivers but as drivers go, if it aint broken, dont upgrade it.

I Very much doubt it, most low-mid level cards require al least a 350w supply, your card (mid-high) will need more than 350w.

If a card such as the 7600GT needs more than 350W, then I'm having trouble understanding this link

http://www.legitreviews.com/article...

It says a 7950GT will need about 200W for the whole system. Am i missing something that experience says differently to?

It didn't say for the whole system. It said for the video card ONLY! You didn't think the rest of your PC powered itself, did ya? ;-)
