Subject: Possibly a New Video Card?OS: Windows XP Pro SP3CPU/Ram: T2400 1.83 GHz, 504 MB RaModel/Manufacturer: IBM Thinkpad T60 1951 |
Comment: Hello, I am interested in upgrading to a new video graphics card. I love gaming, FPS's in particular. I also like to edit video's and film. I just purchased 2 gigs of ram to add to my computer's memory and would like to accompany it with a new graphics card. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, AJ Massaro

Reply: (edit)If you're asking about a laptop, you can't upgrade the graphics...you'd have to buy a gaming laptop, in which case you can expect to pay over $1000. http://www.alienware.com/ If you're asking about a desktop system, we'd need to know to make/model of the system, make/model of the motherboard or at least whether it supports PCI-e or AGP. Also, the power supply would need to be capable of handling a gaming video card or it would have to be upgraded as well. Reply: (edit)I thought I explained it clearly enough...I guess not. NO, you can NOT upgrade the video card in your laptop! Why? because it does NOT have a "card". The graphics are integrated into the motherboard & can NOT be changed. If you want better graphics for gaming, you will have to buy a different laptop that has better graphics. And as I stated, gaming laptops usually cost well over $1000. Click here >> Gaming laptops - high performance mobile computers made for playing hardware demanding games.
