Port Range Forwarding

Specs: Windows XP
Okay so I used to have comcast and was able to host on Warcraft 3.

Then we changed our connection to Dish Network and is now using a Modem.

I wasn't able to host games anymore. Then I fixed the problem by going to Control Panel, Network and Internet Connections and then what ever was above LAN I was able to go into it's properties and add ports or programs.

Then yay I could host.

But then a friend of my moms got a Lab top and set up a router. Linksys.

and yet again I couldn't host. So I figured by going into the Connections and doing the same thing by adding ports it would work again.

But it didn't a warning came up saying that my Gateway did not except the changes and that I would have to manually change or modify my Gateway.

So I attempted a different method and typed my Gateway into my internet search bar. Typed in the name and password. Went to Applications and Gaming.

Warcraft Start~End Port Protocol To IP Addres
6112 6112 both ...-...-.-...

and then enabled it
but then a Warning came up saying

Entry 9: Start port must be greater then End port!

and it keeps doing the same thing no matter what i do.

and this is exactly where I am stuck. So if anyone knows how to help me. Please and thank you.

Number 1. You can't host any online games, or play them for that matter with a satellite internet connection.

The ping is way over 1 second sometimes. It's just not possible.

And if you are using the old stile dish setup where you use the dish for downloads and a 56K modem for uploads, your even more screwed.

PowerMac 9600(1 ghz G4)
512mb RAM
50gb SCSI
ATi 9200 PCI

Oh and I forgot to add. It's not my ports that linksys is not letting pass its the ones that where already there. Its basically saying it wants me to change all the ports.

Like the FTP server
Web Server ect
it wants me to change the ports so that one is greater then the other but i dont want to do that

sorry i dont know anything about sat dish internet etc if Outlander seems to think it cant be done fair enough,

however one question, what is asking to change ports?

get the person whose router it is to explain whats going on
games dont ask to change anything i aware of, they usually just dont connect.
