Playing a Win95/98 game on XP

Hi, i was gonna get a few old puzzle games like the first 2 Broken Sword's and Monkey Island etc, but the problem is their platform is Win 95/98 and i have XP so how would i get around playing them, surely there is a way.

Even if they don't say XP, they still usually run all the time.
Check www.ntcompatible.com for a listing of games that work and others that may have issues. Often there are comments about how to make particular games run.
