That's not a "perfect PC." The processor is pretty old, and the graphics card pretty much sucks.

It's the graphics card that is slowing your games down. If you have an AGP slot, throwing in an inexpensive GeForce 7600GS or Radeon X1650Pro will give you a huge boost in gaming performance.

STOP WRITING IN CAPS!!!!!!!!!! Have you noticed that no one else writes that way? That's because it's RUDE & is considered to be SHOUTING!!!! Lose the caps button!

Your problem is you have a weak system for gaming. But regardless of weak hardware, when is the last time you scanned for viruses & spyware? Have you used MSCONFIG to disable unnecessary programs from loading?

yeah i have done everything, i have scanned for virus every 2nd day and disable all in msconfig, now u tell me what to do next but such a stupid problem is when i enter in any car or bike, the game becomes tooo slow for some time but when enter in police car or bike(any police car) its ride normal. i don't think its a hardware problem, remember the problem only occur when i enter any car or bike but not police vehicle.

That is a bit odd, but I have to say that GTA San Andreas wasn't a very efficiently written game. So I don't doubt it is your graphics card. Even if you think that your games are playing fine with your current video card you will definitely notice a huge performance boost with a card like a 7600GS. nVidia's FX series of cards were pretty terrible. I also used to have a FX5500 and tried to run GTA SA and it was terrible. Got myself a 6800Ultra and it ran beautifully!

Yeah, but I did to make a point. I don't write entire paragraphs in all caps.

Terry X,

The FX5500 is fairly outdated & the FX series never was all that good to begin with. What are your game settings? It could be that you're simply trying to run your settings too high for the video card you have.

Also, are you running the latest chipset & video drivers?

The FX series were garbage, and your PC is below average for gaming.

Did you install the FULL game on your PC or do you still have to put in the CD/Dvd to play?
Do you have the most updated drivers for your card? Also try looking online to see if there are any patches for the games.

I had a P4 2.0 512mb and a fx5200 and never had any issues with the games I played on it.

Instead of telling him his PC Sucks why don't we try to find a possible solution with what he has in hand besides the "it sucks, go spend money"

Well hope you find a solution.

I hate to sound like a hypocrite but the way games are going now, sooner or later you will have to spend the money and update your video card if you want to take part of the festivities.
I purchased the fx5200 when it came out and spent $1XX. There are far more superior cards now that start at $30+ .

Personally, if you really are a gamer, take the several hundred dollars you'd spend on a high end card and buy an xbox or playstation. Use your computer for other things. I'm not a big gamer anymore but nothing is more frustrating then spending big $$$ on a video card only to find that 6 months later it won't run (or run very slowly) the latest game you want to play.

Replace the xbox every 4 or 5 years when their cycles renew themselves with the next console and keep your hair and sanity intact.

Thats my unsolicited 2 cents anyway.

downloading the games that might be prob. I've learned that some people don't rip the games properly some things become corrupt and sometimes leave out files..ie video, sound and so on. So you basically get what you paid for.
You paid for sh*t you got sh*t..lol sorry it was funny in my head.

Try searching the bargain rack I’ve picked up a few games for 15 and under. Well good luck

Dude...

Your "perfect PC" sucks balls.

Your video card is old and does NOT run well with any nvidia driver above 84.XX.

You are using a 2.4ghz P4... OLD! This equals something like a 1000mhz Core2 CPU(example).

I HOPE your "perfect PC" at least has an AGP slot so you can upgrade to at the very least a 6600gt, or 6800gt. Upgrade that socket 478 CPU to a 2.8ghz or higher P4, HT P4 if your board supports it.

Then and ONLY then will you be happy playing your games.

I could be wrong but to my knowledge Intel never made a dual core 478...unless a Xeon but don't know much about that.
As far as putting a P4 3+ you would have to check the mobo specs to check if supports it or if you would have to update bios.
If you have already made the decision that you are going to spend money then your best bet is to invest in a video card and see if that helps ur gaming.
Upgrading processor wont help if your video card cant handle game.

If you have to ask how to do a bios update I suggest you dont even try it. You can kill ur board. I killed the first board I ever tried it on.
Go to the motherboards website or if purchased PC from vendor go to their site and you should be able to find out the specs. You said it was a mercury motherboard, is your pc a Gateway? Give me some info computer model number or motherboard model number and I'll try to help you with a search.

comment about some people writing in caps...
SOME people consider it shouting, some just a way to emphasize, esp when there is no way to use the text box to emphasize any other way, such as using italics....and OTHERS need the size to be able to SEE it, esp when the text box doesn't allow for changing text size....
Whoever decided to make it a rule not to use caps because it is shouting?? silly

Its been an internet "rule" (if you want to call it that) for several years. I got online around 1998 and I remember that being a rule when I started posting in forums then.

Its not new or unique to computing.net. Its standard "netiquete"
