If you are a gaming person, it's better to invest in a desktop computer since laptops aren't really reliable to begin with considering you are into gaming unless it's one of those $2000-3000 laptops. Desktop computers are also much cheaper and can easily be upgradable when it starts to show its age.

Centrino is NOT a processor at all...it's the name of a hardware package.

Generally, laptops/notebooks are not good for gaming. The problem isn't the CPU, it's the weak graphics chips used on most models. If you want a gaming laptop, you're gonna have to pay big bucks to get one with decent video. There are only a few models available that have upgradeable graphics...the rest of them have integrated video that is NOT upgradeable.

Also, if your game says it requires a 2.0GHz processor, that is the bare minimum that the game will perform at. Anything less is typically not enough to even get the game to run. Why you think a game that requires a 2.0GHz processor would run on a 1.6GHz one is beyond me.

But as jam said, get a much better system for a lot less money by investing in a desktop system. Unless you're willing to spend $3000+ a year to keep in the game, laptops are no good for gaming.

I wish my lawn was emo so it would cut itself.

The Pentium M is even more efficient than the AMD64. A Pentium M @ 1.6GHz is equivalent to a P4 at around 2.8GHz.
Of course, to harness that power, a good mobile video card would be required.

if these are the only choice you have, then of course, pentium. celeron sucks ass. if you have more choice, get amd 64.

Wins 98 SE, intel celeron 450MHZ, 128MB pc 100.
6GB HD. ATI rage 128.
24x cd-rom. 8x2x8 cd-rw.
