Reply: (edit)Sounds generic then since the brand is not obvious. My recommendation is replace it regardless of if its related to this or not. Good deal on one... http://www.compusa.com/products/product_info.asp?product_code=332357&cm_ven=dealm_site&cm_cat=deals3_2006&cm_pla=site&cm_ite=dealmac Have you updated your video card and motherboard chipset drivers yet? Reply: (edit)Yea but i juss bought this new PSU, cauze my old one burned out(dont ask me how cauze i dont know either), and yes i updated my video card drivers but not the motherboard drivers. I'll try doing tht, how do you loosen your memory timings. Mine is dual channel 2x512MB and you know the rest from the sig. I think my power suppply cannot handle all the stuff on my PC, I got a MSI TV@anywhere card and another network card cause i made this PC as a server, for the other computers i have. Reply: (edit)Hi I have had that problem before with Ati. Remove the latest ati catalyst drivers as they cause overheating. Instead use the drivers that came with your card. They are slightly older but more stable. Let me know if that works.

Reply: (edit)"I'll try doing tht, how do you loosen your memory timings." Go into your BIOS and change the various timings there. For more information on BIOS settings, check this out: http://www.tomshardware.com/2006/01/04/bios_from_a_to_z/ Again, you are *raising* the various latency settings for memory, not lowering them in this case to troubleshoot the issue. "I think my power suppply cannot handle all the stuff on my PC" I'm suspecting that may be the case, although if your 450W were good quality, it should be able to handle your components rather easily. If you just replaced the PSU, why do you not know the brand of the PSU? That's disconcerting because it sounds like someone sold you a piece of junk PSU. PSU's are one of the most misunderstood components in a computer. You cannot judge the effectiveness of a PSU based on its wattage alone. One company's 350W can far exceed the performance of another company's 500W. Please help survivors of Hurricane Katrina!www.redcross.org

Reply: (edit)Oh no...another PSU issue! Cost is *usually* a pretty good indicator of quality. How much did the 450W unit cost & where did you get it from?

Reply: (edit)If your PC is working fine, you don't want to raise memory latency values. However, you may want to look into lowering them to increase performance sometime, but it's not mandatory. Honestly, if your PSU is generic, I would still replace it as preventative maintenance. If the PSU goes dead, it can mess up other components on your machine. $40 is worth the piece of mind in my opinion. "How many squirrels had to die to make you look fly?!"

Reply: (edit)I would also recommend against running older drivers unless you have confirmed the newer driver is causing an issue. "How many squirrels had to die to make you look fly?!"

Reply: (edit)lol the newer one were cauzing an issue, before the restart problem i added a new HDD 160GB with the same connector as the 250 one. For few dayz i played games like i was playing before but the loading screens were kinda fast. Then the problem started to happen i thought it was Video Card Driver so i updated to a new one. Later my 160GB HDD died all of the sudden,i took tht one out then used Computeridiot123's suggestion went back to my CD driver. Now its pretty much fine, except the loading screen took long but i played BF2, HL2 EP1, and FEAR last night and it was fine. By the way thanks to all who helped I much appreciate tht guyz. If anything happens ill rlly come here, this place is the best. You updated your drivers and still had issues. Your 160GB HDD died. You removed it. At that point, did you replace that drive with another? Translation: You have multiple hard drives, right? So it sounds like you have one less hard drive than before. At that point, did you test this with the new driver, or did you rollback without testing with the new driver? If you did try with the latest driver, did you try reinstalling it since there could have been corruption? Now, go back and look at what changed in your system. I am willing to bet the real culprit is a borderline power supply. Removing the second hard drive reduced the draw on the PSU to mask the issue. The mere fact that you had issues before you ever updated to the latest drivers alone suggests drivers have nothing to do with this aside from possible corruption since your PSU and/or hard drive were flakey when you installed them. Reply: (edit)So you guyz ar saying tht i got ripped off again cauze of the power supply. Cauze i had a feel tht my 160 HDD is a western Dig(a known brand), and it dies like tht. DAMN STUPID PSUs now i had to sent my drives to the factory and wish it comes back early. Oh heropsycho2177 thanks for the link for the Antec PSU, i searched around some Canadian Stores here and getting the same thing for $45.99CAD and there was another one which the guy said was a good brand too cant remember the name now. I gonna get my paycheck pretty soon so im thinking of buying tht even though i got this crappy one here. If you guyz any more good brands on the PSUs tell me alright, Thanks all.I hate you my PSU. Reply: (edit)And yes, i tested the games with the new drivers and as Computeridiot123 said they overheat your Video card, with the new driver i was getting an average of 60-65 Degrees but when i reinstalled the old one it got back to 50-53 deg., no joke tht much difference. And TMP-Man tht alot of stuff on a 325watts power supply dude, i dont know how your PC is handling all the stuff. I will say it again "I HATE YOU MY PSU". Ripped me off. I thought PSUs are supposed to juss give electricity to your PC i didnt know it was this big a problem.
