ok so i play rise of nations and it runs good at the beggining then when the game gets intense it lags and sometimes it just restarts. i was ok when it did it a couple a time because i knew it was the memory because i get those virtual memory low warnings but now it does it almost all the time i play a the game i cant even finish the game so its annoying me so i came here for help does anyone know what is causing this? is it low memory? im planning in upgrading to 512 or is it the graphics card getting too hot? i dont think the CPU is getting to hot because when i finish playing the game the CPU temp is around 90F, and by the way here are the error logs

The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was:
0x1000008e (0xc0000005, 0xbf9e7912, 0xf8014b4c, 0x00000000).

Error code 1000008e, parameter1 c0000005, parameter2 bf9e7912, parameter3 f8014b4c, parameter4 00000000.

Run chkdsk(scandisk), check for any viruses/spywares, and defrag your hd.

Your pc may be sucking up all your available power, maybe upgrade the power source too?

Yeah its really hard to say what the problem is, most likely it is the ram. I would do one thing at a time. It would be a wise investment to get more ram anyways so go with that first. Try it out, then write back here and tell us if u r having the same problem. Might take a while to solve but hopefully it will get resolved. Also, has this problem just started, or has it always been like this?

Your graphics card is fine and (probably) has nothing to do with it. How can you be surprised that his RAM is low? He hasn't told us how much it is.
BTW, don't listen to EsP_. He doesn't know what he's talking about and posts that for ever computer problem. Seriously. Defrag your hard drive, lol. Yeah right.

Yeah I would try posting it in the general hardware forum or the windows xp one, might get some more help. And just to answer your other question, everytime your computer reboots unexpectedly on you there is a chance that you could mess something up. Usually if it happens a lot windows will lose an important file that it needs to run. I have seen this happen a lot. Not 100% sure why it happens but it does happen. I wouldn't freak thought just don't play the game until the problem is fixed.

Raylu, you probably know nothing about computers so learn something for once. you probably don't even know what "defrag" means.

"0x1000008e (0xc0000005, 0xbf9e7912, 0xf8014b4c, 0x00000000)" is probably a hardware issue, make sure you install the latest drivers for your motherboard / video card / sound card.

I had the same problem and the problem lied in my video card (it was an ATi card). I bought another card and now it's working wonderful. Guys is this where we're experiencing the blue screen of death??? If it is man...it was driving me CRAZY...coz it could be your vid card, bad ram, sound card, cpu, PSU,...every h/w possibilities might cause this problem. good luck
