PC Halo and Xbox Halo network game?

I have been playing halo with my mates on the xbox but i have extreme difficulty in playing the game with the controller. I am however very good with the old keyboard and mouse scheme.
Is it at all possible, seeing as the xbox is developed on PC technology, to link an xbox and a pc together to play in a multiplayer game? I have a switch, numerous netowrk cables, peer-to-peer, i can make it happen, just can it happen?
Might there be updates or further code to be downloaded?

No. The PC version is a different game. It has the rocket warthog, Banshee and new weapons. Unless you somehow modded the xbox and made the games Identical.

Even modding the game to be identical, wouldnt solve the problem. When XBOX goes into system link mode(NOT XBOX Live mode) the IP addressing goes crazy and most PCs and even routers dont see tha machines on the network. Microsoft has announced plans for a gaming standard that will encompass all forms of gaming from PCs to consoles to handhelds possibly even cell phones. Hopefully it will surface soon because i know that Im much better at PC Halo than I am at XBOX Halo.
