Specs: Microsoft Windows XP Professional, 3.8 GHz P4 1mb cache / 2046 MB
Anyone wondering just what they need to get a decent gaming PC together, check this out. I am runnning the following and can play Far Cry 2 with everything on Ultra HIgh, 8x AA and at 1600 x 1200 res.

Dell XPS Gen 4 case (great air flow never goes above 50 even after 6 hours gaming)
P4 570J 3.8 GHz
HD 4850 1 GB MSI OC Edition not overclocked by me but set to 640MHZ as standard it will go higher if I want it to.

What I am saying is many people would call this system rubbish but it still plays the latest games maxed out. This system was top of the line 5 years ago and it came with a X850 XT PE but by sticking in a 4850 I have given it a new lease of life.

The P4 CPU is & always was rubbish. You didn't list the make/model of the motherboard but most likely it doesn't support a Core 2 Duo, so what you have is about as good as it gets. If you're happy with it, that's all that matters.
