Comment: hi, i have a geforce fx5200, which i ran the overclocking detection tool which put it on 323 for the core clock and 482 for the memory clock. the thing is i tried a couple of games and they kinda "hiccup" but the 3d does run faster. is there anyway of enjoying the speed without thses hiccups? thanks.

Reply: (edit)It's supposed to run at what...250/400?? Try experimenting...back off a little & see if it still "hiccups". Try something like 300/450, 320,/460, etc. It's all trial & error. Asus A7N8X-X 1800+ @ 8.5 x 200MHz 768MB PC3200 2.5-3-3-7 Asus A9550GE/TD 128MB WinME/WinXP Pro

Reply: (edit)yeah, i've learned/decided that the best way to overclock is over a VERY long period of time, for GPUs and CPUs. Because stress tests are good if you've just made a change (I use Prime95 for my CPU and 3Dmark03 on a loop for my GPU), and if the overclock passes that test, I'll leave it and just use the computer normally for a few weeks. That's the only true, field-work type test. good luck!

Reply: (edit)323/482!? Holy Jesus that's some massive OCing... you must have an igloo for a case to get it to run stable. If you're getting hiccups as you call them, back down by about 5 MHZ at a time and run your games for hours. If you get to a point where your comp's been going hot for awhile and you get no graphical issues, hold it at that speed. OCing takes a long time.
