Hi,

I was wondering if I connect my 19" Pc monitor to my 17" laptop, would that cahnge the heat of the laptop / video card and how?

Is it reasonable to believe that it might lower it since the power supply of the monitor is not related to the laptop?

On the other hand I do not know if the video card wil need more power to display on the monitor?

any ideas?

If you hop on a treadmill for 5 miles rather than run outdoors, are you going to get tired & sweat indoors or not.

The above is not a perfect analogy, but you get my drift. The external monitor is not going to reduce the heat dissipation from the notebook.
