I have 1GM ram with 256 mb onboard graphic card on 945 gigabyte moptherboard which I melieve is sufficient to play umreal tournament and quake 3.
when I run the game I get out of frequency error. i have tried all the steps to change the override frequency n stuff bt still same issue...its driving me crazy its been cuple of weeks... m able to play hitmen bt not UT n quakes? pls help guys
You need a REAL video card, not onboard graphics. The onboard is NOT sufficient! Since you have a PCI-e slot, invest in a gaming video card. If money is tight, you don't necessarily have to spend a lot...just about any card is better than onboard.
For example, this X1650Pro 512MB card for just $27 after rebate:
Intel's GMA950 graphics suck for gaming. You *may* be able to play older games such as Quake 3, but it won't be pretty. You didn't list which version of UT you're trying to play. I'm fairly sure Hitman doesn't play very well, does it?
If you're happy with it, that's fine. But if you were to invest $30-40 in a cheap video card, your gaming performance would increase significantly...not just the graphics, but the 256MB you're currently using toward the onboard video will be returned for use by the system.
Other than that, explain exactly what's happening when you try to play these games & what error messages you're getting.
Have you ever played games on a PC that was designed for gaming? Your system is NOT a gaming system & does not play games "efficiently". I can't over emphasize enough what a piece of sh!t the GMA950 onboard graphics are when it comes to gaming.
But after reading your explanation above, your problem *may* be with your monitor and/or game resolution settings. What type of monitor do you have & how old is it? Considering your crappy graphics, the game resolution should be manually set as low as possible...either 640 x 480 or 800 x 600, no higher.
yes probably u r correct.......may be the resolution problem.......coz ma monitor is old by 4 yrs and it is set to high resolution....i think i will buy a 512 mb good graphic card...will dat help me to resolve the issues?
