Specs: Windows 7
I am supposed to open a game port (6501) to play an online game (Strat-o-matic). How can I tell if the port is open and how can I open it if not?

Not sure, but I guess you would do it like this:

PORT || TCP OR UDP || IP and PORT || TCP or UDP || ENABLE

So for instance, say you are using port 1220 and your computer to host has an IP of 192.168.1.30 inside your lan. Your port is TCP.

1220 || TCP || 192.168.1.30:1220 || TCP || ENABLE

And if that doesn't work, try:

1220 || TCP || 192.168.1.30 || TCP || ENABLE

To find the IP address of your computer on your LAN go to Start>Run type "cmd" w/o "" and then type "ipconfig" w/o "". You can find your IP address under "IP Address".

Also, make sure any firewall on the PC hosting the game is disabled or allows inbound traffic on that port.

Hope it helps
