while playing any game about 5-10 min into it i get a blue screen saying "DRIVER IRQ LESS OR NOT EQUAL" when i error track it says that is is caused by a devices driver.. i recently installed a new gfx card. but this same problem was happening with my last gfx card. is it important to remove older gfx card driver files, or does it remove them upon installing new hardware. when playing the sound and video suddenly freeze and move 1 frame after freezing. i thot this was because of my old video card, and it's driver. so i bought a new one and problem still occurs. can anyone help please?

I believe the exact error message is DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL.

"is it important to remove older gfx card driver files"

Yes it is. And that is explained at the nVidia website:

http://www.nvidia.com/object/driver...

Also, test your memory with memtest86:

Okay, i believe i removed the only other existing display drivers which was for my onboard vga. I ran the memtest, but it seemed to have stoped and i couldn't really tell if there was a problem or what to look for really. the max contiguous error's were 2, is that for my ram stick?

1.75 gigahertz AMD Athlon XP
128 kilobyte primary memory cache
256 kilobyte secondary

"I ran the memtest, but it seemed to have stoped"

Just to clarify...you downloaded the file, created either a boot floppy or bootable CD, booted off it & let memtest86 run? If it simply stopped (I assume you mean it froze?), you have a problem...could be memory related or could be an overheating problem.

BTW, the 7300 is not a good gaming card:

Ok, im joining the debate. When it says contiguous it means that something is related directly to the problem or adjacent. So if your memtest made the computer "stop" or "freeze", if your referring to your computer, then if there is 2 contiguous errors which in this case there is, it's referring to your graphics card setup interacting with the system settings. This is why there are 2 contiguous errors.

Your computer may be incapable of that kind of graphics card due to the ROM, if not then you installed your graphics card was installed incorrectly and it stuffed up the memtest because of this.

Take out the graphics card, put it back in and using the manuel that comes with it (if one) install it properly, including removing other display memory settings and then installing the new settings. Try it :)

If this doesnt work then I'd have to say its over heating.
I have a s--- computer...Meh..getting awesome one soon
