Comment: I've been trying to load an extremely old DOS game (Betrayal at Krondor) on my Win XP system. When it try to run it I get a message the tells me that I don't have enough memory. the Command Prompt tells me I have 584K free conventional memory and the game needs 590K. It may also need extended or expanded RAM. Most websites mention this problem but I've only found people running Win 95 or 98, not XP. Can anyone figure this out *without* using a bootable floopy? It's a great game but I haven't been able to play it since Win 95. Another post on the Win XP forum suggests an emulator, but I'd really rather not use one if possible. My software doesn't have bugs...It just develops random functions!

Reply: (edit)Right click on the exe file and go to properties. The window that shows up will show target and at the complete end add /m even after the " if there is one. I dont know why but i got an old game to work that way

Reply: (edit)Try the program compatiblity thing that XP has, and select Windows 95 on the menu. Sometimes it works, and theres times it doesn't. It worked with my NFS SE (1995) game for a couple days. Not all tips I post here are correct. If they aren't tell me so I won't post the wrong ones again. And some may not work due to some tiny differences between my computer and yours.
