old computer game from the 1990's

I'm trying to find the name of an old computer game. I only have a small amount of information about the game. It was either a windows 95 game or older. You start off being a space ship and kill all the creatures and stras and then you play a character that enters this mansion with a shotgun and basically shoots creatures like zombies, green blobs that jump around, spiders that hang from the ceiling and other things. It was all 2-d and pretty simple. Im pretty sure the name starts with an x too. It looks like blackthorne abit. thanx its driving me nuts not being able to find it lol
