Comment:

Recently I just installed Oblivion, and whenever I start it, the game crashes. First, I'm given the Bethesda logo, but when the Oblivion intro starts, I hear a screeching noise (from my speakers) and it crashes to desktop. I've had Oblivion on this computer before, and it ran perfectly, but after I sent it in for repairs, it stopped. I've tried reinstalls, deleting my .ini file, defragging and all that jazz. I'm able to run other games, like Bioshock, without a hitch. I have the latest drivers installed for everything, and I'm really, really confused. Please help! (oh, and I have a SoundBlaster Audigy SE, I think)

Never mind, problem solved. I just had to download a codec pack.
