I'm trying to build a laptop right now, and the most demanding game I play is EQ. Dell's 600M system I am looking at comes with a Radeon 9000 32MB card and 1.6 ghz pentium M (there's a really good special deal right now). Is it impossible to upgrade notebook video cards, because this card seems pretty poor. Is the 32MB mem really limiting? Also, how well does the Intel Extreme Graphics 2 with 64MB mem onboard card perform compared with something like a Radeon 9600 card? Thanks in advance.

go to alienware.co.uk - snap up a cheap laptop and get the 6800 addon for £230 more i think.
I think it works out cheaper. Or of course go for a mobile x800 if you can but for price/performance the intel extreme and 9600, its like comparing a breeze block to a fully built house. Get one with a 9600 if you can.

FYI: Notebooks are known to suffer from heat related issues when under intense use from game play as they don't have adequate ventilation and cooling. A Radeon 64MB should be a better choice, but keep in mind that the higher the resolution chosen (in game options), the lower the performance will be when playing. (i.e. frame freezes)
