I installed Rise of Nations and Rise of Nations : Thrones and Patriots on my PC. The Cd is extremely scratched, so I downloaded a NO CD thing. Now the game wont start.
I downloaded the NO CD and copyed it and pasted it in the c:\programfiles/microsoftgames/riseofnations
is that how you do it?
And If anyone knows a good NO CD patch for both versions, please gimme the url.

As long as the top of the CD isn't scratched, you should be able to save it.

Think of the bottom of the CD as a window & the game data as a newspaper. If you tape the newspaper to the window, you can read the paper thru the glass. If the window gets dirty or scratched, you can clean it & buff out the scratches & still read the paper. But if a chunk gets ripped away from the paper, you're screwed.

If the bottom of the CD is dirty or scratched, simply clean it & buff out the scratches (I use either automotive polishing or rubbing compund) & it should work good as new. Once you've got it working, I suggest you burn a backup copy ASAP....

But if there's a scratch in the top of the CD where the data is, you could always use the CD as a coaster...lol
