As many of you know, I have purchased a PNY 6800. My P4 2.4ghz is bottlenecking the card so it is running slower than i can. I am about to purchase a ASUS SE DELUXE motherboard and an AMD 3000+ along with 1 gb of PC3200. At the moment, I get an average of 40-80fps in cs:source and 50 to 180fps in COD. With this new system, will I be able to get 70-80fps constantly in cs:source. I know if will be a huge jump, but how huge?

New System:
AMD 64 3000+
ASUS SE DELUXE
1gb PC3200
80gb WD Hardrvie
PNY 6800

Old System:
P4 2.4ghz
ABIT AI7
1gb PC2700
80gb wd hardrive

"ASUS SE DELUXE"

Did you buy that board yet? It's an awfully expensive one & I believe the nForce3 250 is the better chipset for the S754 A64.

Howz about of the these?

And I don't know how good this AOpen board is, but have a look at the specs....6 ATA devices and/or 6 SATA? WOW!

uh...is this the board/cpu deal for $100? Nevermind about the other boards then. That Asus board sells for over $100 alone...

Assuming it's configured correctly, you should be able to hit at least 60fps avg in CS:S rather easily. Just be sure to load the newest VIA chipset and NVidia video drivers, and assuming your system isn't virus or adware/spyware infested, or you're not doing something stupid like watch a DVD movie on your computer while you game, your system should roll fine.
