Have just been given Gecube X700 Pro 128mb (replacement for repeatedly faulty 9800 pro) I am unhappy with this but haven't been given a choice.

On the CCC the following shows

Memory Clock in MHz 398 MHz
Core Clock in MHz 398 MHz

However the spec I have seen for the card seem to states that these should be higher.

Not into overclocking, if using ATItool would I be ok puuting these values up, if so how high?

Just got the stock cooling on the card

It seems fine to me, considering even if you do run it at stock speeds (CORE: 425mhz, MEM: 430mhz) it will not make a noticeable differance. I hope you got that card for free, being as upgrading from an 9800pro to a x700 is the same as, say getting optimized super drivers for you 9800pro (i.e not a big gain in preformance).

If I were you I would install the omega drivers (set A.I to High) and overclock some, so you can essentially up the graphics settings for your games up one notch in image quality, maybe AAx4 ASx8 as opposed to AAx2, ASx4.

Yes got card as free replacement. I did try to get like for like but they dont stock 9800 pro anymore. Not happy but not a lot I can do.

Lost a bit of performance on Aquamark but HL2 and Unreal Tournament look and play pretty similar. Just wanted to squeeze bit more out. will have look at Omegas.

Thanks

Have tried Omegas and without playing get the same sort of performance. In fact score on Aquamark3 goes down a bit.

Other problem I had is with ATI traytools that come with it. When I start programme the pc hangs...any ideas
