I just got a Sparkle 9600gt 2gb video card, installed it...and now my front and subwoofer speakers dont work, but my rear ones do, if i plug the speakers into the head phone jack in the front just the front ones will work. but if i have it hooked up in the rear, only the Rear and sub works, not the center or fronts. The card has DVI outputs, also it isnt reconzing one of my ram sticks only says i have 3 gig when i have 4 in it i am running vista any thoughts? ANY i just wanna play GTA and hear the gun shots and car crashes!

I hope you didn't pay $140 for that card?

It only has GDDR2 memory instead of much faster GDDR3 & you certainly don't need a card with 2GB. You could have done a LOT better for $140.
I don't know why your sound isn't working but I highly doubt you EVER had all 4GB of RAM recognized. If the amount dropped, it's becuase of the 2GB card. Get rid of it & buy something decent.

Could it be you only have 3 out of 4 gigs recognized because you've got 32 bit Vista? If you have a 32 bit OS it will only recongnize and utilize 3 gigs. I don't understand the connection between your video memory and system memory, they're different animals.
On your sound, did you go into your audio software to ensure you've set it up for surround? If not, its only going to play stereo as default. Go into your SETTINGS and then CONTROL PANEL, find your audio icon open it and see what the setup is.

Bought a SB Audio card for 29 bucks slapped it in. Video card works fine now and vista reconizies all 4 gig of ram also. Sound works fine now too onboard and on card!
Bottom line i have 2 gigs of video ram!
