Specs: Windows Vista, Core i7 920/12Gb Corsair Dominator 1600Mhz
Ok guys i have just built this rig, and i played cod4 and 5 on my old dell with no problems. I installed windows vista ultimate 64 and installed all the drivers for hardware. When i launch either game at "optimal" game settings within 2-5 ,imutes my computer restarts. I am new to vista and cannot find where to turn off the auto restarts to be able to retrieve the error message so if someone could help me with that, that would be great. Also, if anyone has any ideas as to why my system would be restarting please let me in on the secret.

PSU: Xigmatek 850w modular
CPU: Core i7 920
MB: Asus p6t Deluxe V2
Ram: Corsair Dominator 1600 Mhz (12 GB)

Monitored temps of CPU, GPU, and MB during crashes and the most recent crash was as follows...CPU temp 51 deg C, MB temp 49 deg C, and GPU temp 50 deg C...doesn't look like an overheating issue. Also, the computer runs fantastic until i start to game, then bam reboot. Please help me out guys...this is bugging me and i would like to give my new rig some game time...thanks in advance!

What program are you using to monitor the temps? I'm not familiar with the i7 but 51C doesn't seem unreasonable. 49C for the mboard doesn't appear right though...did you double check in the BIOS?

No i did not check the BIOS, however i am using PC Probe to monitor CPU and MB temps, and for GPU temps i am using EVGA Precision. What should the temps be on the MB??

hi firstly ya mobo temp seems a bit high i would think approx
35-36c should b fine as for allowing the game to optimise ya
settings...that aint a goood way to optimise ya game settings
..never trust that method always set it manually to best game
play without allow game settings on auto optimise is
a no no...cant be trusted...!
