So I'm looking at between $1500 - $2500 AU for a new system, which of these two would be a better choice? Basically one has an 8800GT and one has a 9800GTX.

I'm not sure how AUS prices compare to US. Can you build your own system? Did you try comparing prices of a home build?

The software they throw in is basically freebies so that's not a factor, but it does seem like they use decent components. I'd prefer to see 2 x 2GB RAM rather than 4 x 1GB though & they really don't provide any info about the power supplies other than wattage.

The LEXA BLACKLINE Case used for the cheaper PC sells for $110, the Black NINJA Case sells for just $55 ($20 after rebate). That should give you an idea of the difference in quality between the two cases.

The boards are similar & the 2nd PC comes with a wireless keyboard/mouse & a bigger HDD, but even with better video card, I don't know if it's worth $375 more than the 1st...you'd have to do the math.

Thanks, yeah US and AU prices are basically identical atm as far as I know. These two systems are pretty much the cheapest I've seen so far for their specs.

I'm not confident to build my own really, rather do it this way. I'm not really fussed on monitor size/peripherals/hd space/etc right now, so if you think the two systems don't seem to different in terms of performance I'd go the cheaper one.

Thanks

Building your own computer will always save you money, I saved around 300 bucks by building my own computer.
