Having noticed that many here are building a new computer system for gaming, I have various suggestions for a cool gaming rig that will not burn a hole in your wallet:

AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000/5200+ Socket AM2 CPU
2GB Corsair ValueRam DDR2
ATI Radeon X1950 Pro 256MB PCI-E
DFI UT Lanparty Socket AM2 SLI Motherboard
500GB Seagate Barracuda SATA2 HDD
LG/Lite-On 18x DVD-Writer
22" LG Flat Panel Widescreen LCD Monitor (They are reasonably cheap nowadays).
Antec Sonata 3 Case w/500W P.S. included
Logitech Keyboard + Mouse Wireless combo.
