I wanna get it but I wanna hear from you guys. The core speed on this looks great for gamign and it looks promising, but I wanna hear your guys opinions first.
I don't know about that particular card, but the X1650Pro is a good choice. However, any gaming AGP card will have to be plugged into the power supply because the AGP slot itself doesn't put out enough juice. The card you chose requires the 4-pin floppy plug...others require the larger 4-pin plug used by hard drives & optical drives. What I'm getting at is you need to make sure your power supply can handle the added load, otherwise it will need to be upgraded too. Either that or choose a card that doesn't require the plug-in.
I'm not a fan of Rosewill, but I'm fairly sure it'll be OK.
And just FYI, Rosewill isn't a manufacturer, they're a repackager / relabeller. They buy products in bulk from a "real" manufacturer, slap a Rosewill label on it & sell it as their own. Rosewill isn't the only outfit that does it, it's actually a fairly common practice with a lot of PC hardware.
Check the label on your PSU...there should be a Rosewill model number, possibly RP550? Then you'll find another model, possibly AP-600X? AP = ATNG POWER.
Hey jam. The model number is a RP550-2 if that means anything.
Also, do you think this card will be reliable? Would it be good for games for the price? Could it play Call of duty 4 on medium - high settings? This card looks very promising and I couldn't really find that many good cards on newegg that were similar to this one. Thanks!
You understand that the card will take up two slots, right? Because of the oversize fan design, you'll have to knock out the slot directly beneath the AGP slot so that the fan has a place to exhaust out of the case.
eh, the first one, the reviews say theres no heatsink and the second hard, no one has bought yet so I don't trust them. does GECUBE make good cards? Also, the one I liked, I dont mind losing a few PCI slots since I actually don't use them. But still if I like it even though its big, will it get the job done for the modern games and will it still keep cool?
Eh Im not a big fan of Nvidia as they have such poor driver support. Ill just stick with my choice. I need cooling and thats a priority to me and it looks good. I dont use my PCI slots cause everything like sound and LAN are onboard. so I'll just get this and let you know the results of it. Hopefully they are positive. Its also 70 dollars with the rebate which is right up my alley since the X1650 PRO is the best I can get for my money.
